1. Our Relationship with You
Your right to privacy and the protection of your personal data is important to us. FG Wallet is committed to good privacy practice, and we collect data only where it is strictly necessary to provide our Services.
By using our Services — visiting our website, using our applications, opening our Telegram Mini App, or contacting us — you acknowledge and accept the uses, disclosures and procedures described in this Policy.
The following sections explain how we process your personal data with FG Wallet acting as the data controller.
2. Collection and Use of Your Personal Data
“Personal data” means information that identifies an individual or relates to an identifiable individual. This includes information you provide voluntarily, information collected automatically in the course of providing our Services, and information you give us when you contact us. Following the principle of data minimisation, we collect only the amount of personal data necessary to provide our Services.
When You Use Our Self-Custody Wallet
FG Wallet is a self-custody wallet. When you create or import a wallet, your private key and recovery phrase are generated and stored locally on your device, under your sole control. We do not collect, receive, store or have access to your private key or your recovery phrase. We do not require an email address or any other identifying data to create a wallet.
| Category of personal data | Types of personal data | Purpose of processing and legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Wallet information | Public wallet address. Your private key and recovery phrase are stored locally on your device, under your custody, and are never transmitted to us. | We process your public wallet address to deliver self-custody wallet services and to display balances and history. Legal basis: performance of a contract to which you are a party. |
| Transaction information | Information about transactions recorded on the public blockchain, such as timestamps, public wallet addresses and transaction amounts. | We process transaction information to deliver the wallet service and to facilitate, execute and display the transactions you request. Legal basis: performance of a contract to which you are a party. |
| Device and usage information | Device model, operating system, application version and installation data, browser type, language setting. | We use device and usage information to deliver, secure and improve our Services. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving our Services and the user experience. |
Please note that your IP address is processed only on a transient basis, in order to route traffic and to comply with regulatory requirements based on your country. We do not log or retain your IP address beyond this temporary use.
When You Use Our Telegram Mini App
FG Wallet is also available as a Mini App inside Telegram. When you open it, Telegram supplies us with data that identifies your session — this may include your Telegram user identifier, username, display name, language setting and, where you have set one, your profile photo. We use this data solely to authenticate your session, to link it to your wallet within the Mini App, and to prevent fraud and abuse. Legal basis: performance of a contract to which you are a party.
Telegram is an independent data controller. Its collection and use of your data is governed by Telegram’s own privacy policy, not by this Policy.
When You Visit Our Website
When you use our website, read our materials, or request support, you may provide personal data. We never ask for your private key or recovery phrase for this purpose, and no employee or representative of FG Wallet will ever request them. Anyone who does is attempting to defraud you.
| Category of personal data | Types of personal data | Purpose of processing and legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Contact information | Information you choose to provide when you contact us, such as your email address and the content of your message. | We process your contact information to respond to you and to provide customer support. Legal basis: performance of a contract to which you are a party. |
| Social media information | Information you choose to provide when you interact with us through social media or messaging channels such as X or Telegram. | We use this information to communicate with you and to keep you informed about our Services. Legal basis: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it. |
| Device and usage information | Device model, operating system, browser type, application version, time zone and language setting. | We use this information to deliver, secure and improve our Services. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving our Services and the user experience. |
Transaction Screening and Compliance
To comply with applicable law and to protect our users, we may use independent third-party analytics providers to screen blockchain addresses and transactions for links to sanctions, fraud, theft or other illicit activity. For this purpose we process public blockchain data, including wallet addresses and transaction details. This data is public by nature and is not created by us. Legal basis: compliance with our legal obligations and our legitimate interest in preventing fraud and unlawful use of our Services.
Referral Programme
Where you take part in our referral programme, we process the referral code you use, the link between the inviting and the invited account, and the record of rewards granted. We use this data to operate the programme, to calculate rewards and to detect abuse such as self-referral or automated accounts. Legal basis: performance of a contract to which you are a party, and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse.
Push Notifications
We may send you optional push notifications through our applications to provide alerts, updates or news relevant to your use of the wallet. Notifications are sent based on your choice, and you can manage or switch them off at any time in the settings of the application or of your device.
Biometric Authentication
We offer optional biometric authentication, such as Face ID or fingerprint recognition, as a secure and convenient way to unlock your wallet. If you enable it, your biometric data is processed directly on your device by its built-in security features. Your biometric data is never transmitted to our servers or to any third party. You can enable or disable biometric authentication at any time in your device settings or in the security settings of our application.
Personal Data Collected Automatically
In certain circumstances we may collect data automatically when you use our Services, in accordance with applicable law. This may include device, log and usage data, which helps us support you, improve the performance of our Services, detect unauthorised access and prevent fraud.
When you use our wallet or visit our website, your IP address may be processed on a transient basis, solely to route traffic, to localise the service in accordance with regulatory requirements, and to establish secure connections with third-party providers when you choose to use their functionality. We do not log, retain or otherwise access your IP address beyond these temporary uses. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in the security and improvement of our Services.
Aggregated and Anonymised Data
We also use aggregated or anonymised data to improve our Services — analysing general usage trends, gathering feedback and conducting research without identifying individual users. We may share such aggregated or anonymised data with service providers, business partners or other third parties, including prospective investors or partners, for purposes such as demonstrating the performance of our Services or supporting business development. This data does not identify you.
We will not use your personal data for purposes incompatible with those you have been informed of, unless required or authorised by law.
3. Use of Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies on our website to enable it to function, to remember your preferences, to measure how our website is used and to improve it. Depending on the law applicable in your region, the cookie banner in your browser will tell you how to accept or refuse cookies. You can also manage cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the website works.
4. How and Why We Share Your Data
We are not in the business of selling our users’ personal data, and we do not sell it.
We may share personal data with service providers and partners where this is necessary to operate our Services. Certain features of FG Wallet rely on third-party products and services, including:
- rhino.fi, operated by Liquidity Labs Holdings Limited, our partner and primary provider of swap and liquidity infrastructure, to which swap requests are routed;
- providers of blockchain data and node infrastructure, which supply balances, transaction history and price information;
- providers of network resources such as TRON energy, used to reduce the cost of your transactions;
- providers of blockchain analytics used for transaction screening as described above; and
- providers of hosting, cloud storage, analytics and customer support tooling.
These providers have access only to the data needed to perform their function, may not use it for their own purposes, and must process it in accordance with our contracts with them and with applicable data protection law.
We may also share personal data in the following circumstances:
Business transfers. As our business develops, we may buy or sell businesses or assets. In such a transaction, user information may be one of the transferred assets, but it remains subject to the commitments made in this Policy.
Legal authorities. We may be required by law or by a court to disclose information, including personal data, to regulatory, law enforcement or other competent authorities. We will make such a disclosure to the extent we are legally obliged to do so, and we may also disclose personal data to enforce our legal rights or to prevent fraud.
Protection of us and others. We may disclose personal data where we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with applicable law or a lawful request, to cooperate with law enforcement, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, property or safety of FG Wallet, our users or others, including for fraud prevention.
Our Services may contain links that let you connect to third-party websites, applications and platforms. Those platforms act as independent data controllers, and their processing of your personal data is governed by their own privacy policies, not by this Policy. A link to a third-party site does not imply our endorsement of it.
5. International Transfers of Personal Data
We use servers operated by our service providers, and your information may be processed on servers located outside your country of residence. We may also transfer personal data to partners and service providers located in other countries.
Where we transfer personal data outside your country of residence, we apply appropriate technical, organisational and contractual safeguards, including the use of Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable, so that your personal data continues to be protected in line with applicable data protection law and with this Policy.
6. Data Security
We treat information security as an essential part of data privacy, and we are committed to protecting your information in accordance with applicable law. No transmission of data over the internet can be guaranteed to be entirely secure, but we apply commercially reasonable physical, technical and procedural measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, use, disclosure, alteration or destruction.
Information you provide to us is held on secure servers managed by us or by our service providers, and access to it is governed by our internal security policies or by those agreed with our providers.
As a self-custody wallet user, remember that your recovery phrase and private key are stored locally on your device and remain under your control. Protect them: enable a passcode and access controls on both your device and the application, keep your recovery phrase offline, and never share it with anyone — including anyone claiming to represent FG Wallet.
7. Data Retention
We keep your personal data for as long as it is needed to provide our Services and to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, including where retention is required by law, for accounting or tax purposes, or to resolve disputes and legal claims.
When we no longer have a legitimate business or legal reason to retain your personal data, we delete or anonymise it. Where that is not immediately possible — for example, because the data is held in backup archives — we store it securely and isolate it from further processing until deletion is possible.
Please note that even if you delete your wallet from our application, remove the application from your device, or ask us to delete your information, the right to erasure is not absolute. Blockchains are public decentralised networks, and data recorded on a blockchain generally cannot be deleted by us or by anyone else, so your right to erasure may not be capable of being fully enforced in respect of on-chain data.
8. What Privacy Rights Do You Have?
Subject to applicable law, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal data. To exercise any of them, contact us at Ceo@fg.app. These rights may be limited or subject to exceptions — for example, where we have a legal obligation to keep processing your data.
Right of access. You may obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you, together with information about how it is processed.
Right to rectification. You may ask us to correct inaccurate personal data and to complete incomplete records.
Right to erasure. You may ask us to delete your personal data, including where it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. Some data may still need to be retained to comply with legal obligations, and data recorded on a public blockchain cannot be deleted.
Right to object. You may object, on grounds relating to your situation, to processing based on our legitimate interests, and to processing for direct marketing.
Right to restrict processing. In certain cases you may ask us to restrict the processing of your personal data temporarily, where there are valid grounds to do so. We may continue processing where necessary for the defence of legal claims or where otherwise permitted by law.
Right to withdraw consent. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
Right to data portability. You may ask us to provide your data in a structured, commonly used format so that you can transfer it to another provider.
We will respond as quickly as possible. If we cannot respond within 10 working days, we will inform you in writing of the timeline for our response. If we cannot fulfil your request, we will explain why, unless we are prohibited from doing so by law.
9. Children
Our Services are not directed at children. Users must be at least eighteen (18) years old. We do not knowingly collect data from, or market to, anyone under 18. By using the Services you represent that you are at least 18 years old. If we learn that we have collected personal data from someone under 18, we will take reasonable measures to delete it promptly, unless we are legally required to keep it. If you believe we hold data belonging to a person under 18, please contact us at Ceo@fg.app.
10. Conditions of Use, Notices and Revisions
If you use our Services, your use and any dispute over privacy is subject to this Policy and to our Terms of Service. If you have any concern about privacy at FG Wallet, please contact us and we will do our best to resolve it. You also have the right to contact your local data protection authority.
We may update this Policy at any time. We review it from time to time to make sure it complies with applicable law and reflects changes in our business. If we revise it, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page so that you can tell whether it has changed since your last visit.
Please review this Policy regularly. Your continued use of our Services after an amendment constitutes acceptance of the amended Policy.
